Perfect Grits
INGREDIENTS:
-1/2 cup of milk
-1/2 cup of heavy cream
-1 cup of water
-tablespoon of butter
-1/2 teaspoon of salt
-2 slices of cheese
-grits
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Pour 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, 1 cup of water, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a pot and bring to a boil.
2) Lower heat to medium and pour in a little grits while stirring (do not pour all of it in at one time, but gradually. This will make the grits even, and not clumpy.) Keep stirring and adding grits until you are able to see mostly solid, or until you get the right texture you want (I usually go for smooth and creamy).
3) Add the tablespoon of butter and 2 slices of cheese (more if you want it), to the grits.
4) Put heat on low
5) Serve and enjoy.
